Sybase ASE and MS SQL Server

Sybase is one of the good old RDBMS in the market. Though it has lost its market today, its been still used in legacy trading systems. Sybase doesn't meet all the concurrency needs of an organization. The other leading RDBMS widely being used in trading systems is MS SQL Server. When I started using Sybase, I was surprised to see that the Sybase has similar architecture as that of MS SQL Server. Found out some interesting articles about Sybase and MS SQL server:

  1. I don think sybase has lost market share. Only thing was sybase did not scale to that of Oracle or MS SQL. Still sybase is rigid rdbms for small/medium scale. :)
