Daylight saving ends in the U.S.

Daylight saving time (DST) in the U.S. ends on Sunday, November 1 at 2:00 am local time. Earlier I have posted about the beginning of  DST quoting as a good news for Software Engineers in India. Link here. It has come to an end and all your late night meetings will be pushed back by an hour.

Here’s what this means in practice (using New York as the example):

Currently:
  • New York is 4 hours behind London.
  • New York is 9.5 hours behind India.
  • New York is 12 hours behind Hong Kong.
Starting on November 1st:
  • New York will be 5 hours behind London.
  • New York will be 10.5 hours behind India.
  • New York will be 13 hours behind Hong Kong.
