Memorable vacation!

As I have posted earlier in twitter, I was on a short vacation with my parents here in Hyderabad. The plan for the same was sketched sometime back in November. There were lots of confusions in finalizing the places of visit and the days. Finally, it was decided to go with a 2-day plan.

The day started on a wrong note as the person, who has agreed to help us with the accommodation, messed up. He didn't turn up and we got to look for stay at the last moment. We found a kewl place "Yatri Nivas". And, we started moving per the day's schedule. Ramoji Film City (RFC) was the first one in our list. When we reach there it was 11 AM and it was a bright sunny day. RFC is a huge land spread comprising of beautiful sets and entertainment parks. Experience was really great. Spent the whole day in there. There were lots of shows organized in RFC and the "Stunt Show" was the highlight of all. Then, We spent some time in the fantasy lands seen in the movies. Returned back to our tent at around 6:00 PM. Got to attend a marriage of one of our family friend.

The marriage was quite different to me. It was a Jain marriage, typically in North Indian style. It was organized in a resort. When we entered that place, groom was just
arriving with his family/friends in a horse. They call that procession as 'baraat'. Pretty different from what I have seen so far. There were quite a lot of ladies and gentle men dancing over there. Almost all the family members including the groom's dad were seen dancing there. Full of energy. It was interesting to see that. Procession went for around 45 mins. There were someother traditions going on after that. I liked the way it was organized. Good food as well. The day ended there.

We started with the day's activities at 8 AM itself. A stretch on the necklace road. Then, I took them to my office and we had our breakfast there. Then, we went to Birla Mandir . It was my first time as well. The temple was very silent and clean. Got a good aerial view from that hill. Buddha statue in Hussain Sagar lake looks very nice from that view. Then, we watched a 3D movie 'Polar Express' in IMax gaint screen. It was the same movie which I watched during my Industrial Visit 3 years back. Then, we bought bucket chicken from KFC on the way to Charminar where our trip ends there.

Signing off with sweet memories. :-)
