[How to] Try out Google Real-Time Search!

Google Search has almost become the natural starting point for discovering the world's information. To make the search results better and more effective, Google had promised to bring in real-time searching capabilities. It has released the real-time search feature today.

How does it work?
Whenever you search for a keyword using Google, it adds a section named "Latest results" to its Universal search page. Google will update that section with real-time information about the keyword searched for. Google shows real-time information from Twitter, FriendFeed and also from some news sites. However, the position of "Latest results" section depends on the relevance to the keyword when compared to other search results. Alternatively, you can select the "Latest results" from the "Show Options" menu to view the real-time information.

How do I try it out?
Google has started to roll out this feature in batches. If you are not lucky enough and don't want to wait for 2-3 days to check it out, here is a work around for you.
  1. Perform any search using Google. (say, Cricket)
  2. Google will direct  you to the results page with some URL specific to your query. (Something like this, http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=Cricket&rlz=1R2GPTB_enIN334&aq=f&oq=&aqi=g10)
  3. Append "&esrch=RTSearch" to the results URL. (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=Cricket&rlz=1R2GPTB_enIN334&aq=f&oq=&aqi=g10&esrch=RTSearch)
  4. Done!! Scroll through your page to check the latest results section.
