Microsoft programs for Startups and Students!

Microsoft offers a wide range of programs to encourage the Startups and Students. This gives the chance for the Startups  to grab the full featured Microsoft development tools with producing licensing for *almost* free of cost. Read the ‘Terms & Conditions’ before applying for any program. As the tag line goes, Microsoft provides Software, Support, Visibility to the Startups with these. These programs give global visibility to an audience of potential investors, clients and partners.

List of programs offered

• BizSpark. BizSpark is targeted at Tech Startups. For many Startups who can not afford to buy Microsoft products, this will be of immense use. It provides a wide range of software for free. Check out the qualifications needed for this program here.

• WebsiteSpark. WebsiteSpark is for professional web developers and designers. It includes software like Windows Web Server, SQL Server Web edition, etc. A one-time $100 Program Offering Fee is due upon exit or at the end of the 3 year term. Join here.

• Empower for ISVs – This program would benefit the Independent Software Vendors (ISV). Membership in Microsoft Empower gives you access to essential development tools, resources and support that will help you accelerate your product development and get your application to market faster.

• DreamSpark – This program enable Students to access Microsoft platform resources, and developer and design tools at no charge.

• Try a product - A wide range of free and trial versions of Microsoft’s leading software.

• Microsoft Action Pack subscription (MAPS) - A Microsoft Action Pack subscription provides a wealth of resources at a very low cost. It offers a wide range of the latest internal-use, full-version Microsoft software to run your business, sales resources to help you promote, install, and cost-effectively build solutions based on Microsoft technologies, online training and free, online technical support.
