Video calling on Android phones

The much awaited feature, Video calling, is finally made available for Android by the VOIP application Fring.Using Fring, one can chat with friends on GTalk, Skype and much more. Though there are not many Android devices in the market with front facing camera, one can work around this limitation by using a mirror. [As far as I know, among the Android phones only HTC EVO 4G is having the front facing camera. Correct me if I am wrong] I have made few test calls with Fring and I’m quite impressed.

Installing the application

  1. The latest version of Fring, which is around 3.02 MB, is directly downloadable from the Android market.
  2. Or, Download it from here.
  3. Or, Scan the below QR code to install the application. image

Note: I used this application on my Nexus One with a mirror. While using the mirror, for better video quality make sure that you are projecting the other person on the mirror and the camera is pointing at you.
