Yesterday I was listening to some of the nice Tamil rhymes on YouTube (நிலா நிலா ஓடி வா) from my Nexus One. The videos were so exciting that I got lost in the related videos and felt the need for downloading them to my Android device. Then, I came across the application named “YouTube Ripper” which does the task for you.
To download the YouTube video
- Search for the video from the unified search box and click on it.
- A prompt will appear asking if you want to open in Browser or YouTube application. Open the video link on the browser.
- Copy the URL of the video by “Menu” + “C” on the devices with physical keyboard, Long Press > Select “Copy All” on devices with on-screen keyboard.
- Download and install the application “YouTube Ripper” from the Android market.
- Open the application and paste the copied URL by “Menu” + “V” on the devices with physical keyboard, Long Press > Select “Paste” otherwise.
- Click the “Rip It!” button to download the video. Video (.mp4) will be saved on the SD card within a folder named “YouTube”.
Note: Lots of web based applications are available for PCs to download YouTube videos.
